Walby Farm Park

A few days ago I met Jane Docksey who is the Education and Development Officer at Walby Farm Park, at Walby, Crosby on Eden, near Carlisle. Jane told me that since opening the Farm has had over 125,000 visitors. A huge success. Visitors get the chance to look round a working farm and observe the animals and learn about farming and livestock as well as handling some of the animals. Newton Le Willows Village Hall

Here is another great venue for a Birthday Party in the Richmond, Bedale, Catterick Garrison area of North Yorkshire. Newton Le Willows Village Hall is fully modernised with a lovely function room ( the main hall ) and there is also an adjoining ante room too. The kitchen has been fully refurbished and is well equipped. The rates for hiring the hall are very reasonable and there is excellent car parking. It is an excellent choice for a birthday party or similar function. The floor in the main hall is also fantastic for dancing.

Great Broughton Village Hall

Great Broughton Village Hall is an excellent venue for a Birthday Party, Race Night or other social function in the Great Broughton or Stokesley area of North Yorkshire.

The hall has excellent facilities. It has an large well fitted kitchen, good toilets and he main room is spacious, well lit and comfortably heated.

The Buck Inn at Maunby, North Yorkshire has been refurbished by the new owners. I performed my Punch and Judy Show there today and was impressed by the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. Karen Stokes explained that she and her husband bought the pub and have been working hard to build the business up. I have to say they are doing a great job so if you are looking for somewhere to go out to in the Northallerton / Thirsk area then you should pay a visit. I think it would also be a nice venue for a Christmas office party / meal.

Its impossible to walk through Sunderland city centre without seeing red and white striped shirts. Football is an important part of local culture and the Stadium Of Light dominates the area both physically and emotionally. This week I have been running circus skills workshops at the stadium. Whitburn Village Community Hall is a really good venue for a function, fund raising event or birthday party. The hall is quite large, there is a decent kitchen and ample car parking. The hall is suitable for a wide range of children’s entertainment

Thornaby’s Hidden Secret

If you live in the Thornaby, Stockton or Middlesbrough areas, you are probably unaware of a place described to me as Thornaby’s hidden secret. It’s often difficult to find a suitable location for a private party. I discovered St Pattrick’s Community Hall recently and decided to write about it because it struck me as an excellent venue. It’s located close to the main A66 Road, it’s easy to find and has a large car park. Although the building looks old, plain and uninviting from the outside, don’t be deceived. The inside is immaculate. The interior has been fully refurbished, it’s modern, well equipped and quite spacious. There is a lovely cafeteria area plus a bar should this be required. The venue could be used for children’s entertainment for a birthday party, christening, anniversary, race night etc etc. It’s also reasonably priced.

Magician and Children’s Party Entertainer Ron Wood performed his highly entertaining Magic And Bubble Show at the Holly Bush Activity Centre in Skelton, North Yorkshire, today. Ron thought the function room ideal for a birthday party. The room is just the right size, its comfortable and has great facilities too.
