Adam’s Crazy Caricatures!

I was booked to do my Christmas Puppet Show at a shopping centre in Warrington the other day and whilst there met Adam Hanson an amazing caricaturist. He was set up on the other side of the mall to me and so I was able to walk over for a chat between shows. I really liked Adams work. If you want to be entertained go to his You Tube Channel, it’s called The cartoon loon. He’s made some really entertaining movies of his work.

Bill Tarmey And Me

Coronation Street fans know instantly who Bill Tarmey is. I regret to admit that until I met Patricia Penrose I had no idea. I was the front man  at a store opening where Patricia was booked as the celebrity to cut the ribbon and officially open the store, then sign autographs and chat with the shoppers. Patricia plays the character of Gina in the TV series Heartbeat. She is lovely person, very friendly and easy to get on with. My job was to build up the atmosphere and let people know what was going on as well as running various in store competitions.

The store was very busy and Patricia Penrose was very popular. She had brought a pile of postcard size photos of herself which she was signing and giving away. She told me that she ran out of these after about an hour ( and she had brought loads with her! ). Whilst we were chatting she said that she thought I sounded just like Bill Tarmey. Several people agreed so it must be true? I’d like to think that this was a compliment but as I don’t watch Corrie I can’t be sure.

We had a great day. The new store was very busy in spite of the bad weather. The client was very happy and I’m just waiting to see if I could be the next Jack Duckworth.

If you were Ron Wood of Jolly Good Productions ( that’s me ), would you consider it a compliment to be told that you sound like Bill Tarmey?  Let me know what you think.

The Secret Millionaire

image

Unfortunately its not me! However Daniella and I did meet this gentleman who starred in one episode of ‘The Secret Millionaire’ I have been told it’s a brilliant programme though I’ve never watched it myself. This photo was taken at the Redcar Christmas Light Switch On. Town Centre Management had organised a room at the Clarendon Hotel for artists to use for changing and to take breaks etc. We met him there. He was the celebrity who had been booked to turn on the lights. A very nice man.

The Boy Who Wanted To Be A Clock

A little boy queued patiently for face painting and when it was his turn climbed up into Hazel’s chair.

” What would you like to be? ” Hazel enquired.

” I want to be a clock ” The boy replied.

” Wouldn’t  you rather be Spiderman, Batman or a dinosaur ” She said.

” No I want to be a clock. I like clocks. ”

” I can do lots of other really good faces. Would you like to be a monster? ”

” No, I like clocks. I want to be a clock and I want the big hand on the four and the little hand on the six. I just want to be a clock. ”

He was obviously not going to be put off and so he got his wish and Hazel painted him as a clock.

That’s the great thing about face painting. Kids can use their imaginations and be anything they want to be, tick tock !

Face Painting In The Big Freeze

image

Face Painting in freezing conditions is not recommended. Your water freezes, your hands are numb, the paint goes rock hard, your feet are like blocks of ice and the ends of your fingers get frost bite. We would never attempt it but today was pretty cold even though we were under  cover. Hazel was well wrapped up as you can see.
