National Play Day Event

Wednesday 3rd August 2011

People enjoying the Play day event.

Thousands of people having fun!

This annual event organised by North Lincolnshire County Council just gets better and better every year. There is so much to do for the children and most of the entertainment is absolutely free. A great deal of planning goes into this event and it shows. The event was attended by 6319 people ( according to the person on the gate counting them in and out ). What is more most of them stayed all day.

Entertainment of all kinds!

There really was something  for everyone. The organisers had been careful to ensure that there were plenty of activities for the very young children as well as exciting stuff for the older ones. There were inflatable slides, bouncy castles, gladiator jousting, trampolines, bungee running, human table football, craft activities, face painting, live shows even a full circus complete with it’s own massive Big Top circus tent. There was also some quite unusual things as you will see when you browse the photos below.

Perfect weather

The organisers even managed to arrange for a lovely sunny day. It couldn’t have been better although shortly after the event closed there was a massive thunder and lightening storm with torrential rain which must have made clearing up afterwards very difficult. I would imagine there were a lot of very wet event staff and a lot of equipment in need of drying out the next day.
