Christmas Cheer in Brighouse!
What a brilliant day. The crowds turned out in droves to attend the fantastic Victorian Christmas Festival organised by the Brighouse Business Initiative team. The huge selection of stalls set up on the main street selling a wide range of Christmas fare were attracting a lot of attention from shoppers. There was live music on the main stage throughout the day as well as special performances from local choirs, dancers and professional entertainers. The street was full of traders and characters in Victorian costume and there were street entertainers with magic, circus skills, stilt walking and fire eating too. For the children there as The Jolly Good Productions Christmas Puppet Show in the Salvation Army Hall.
At 4 pm the Christmas Parade set off and finally Santa switched on the Christmas lights at 4.45 pm. The entire proceedings were watched over by Queen Victoria herself.
What a fantastic day!
