The toppers are made from edible modelling materials, but many customers choose to keep them rather than eat them. If stored carefully and kept dry, a topper can remain as a memento of the celebration long after the cake itself has disappeared.

Hazel will consider the complexity and time involved and confirm what she can make, the price and the timescale.
4. Hazel makes it
The topper is sculpted and assembled by hand. Detailed commissions take considerable time, so please don't leave your enquiry until the last minute.
5. Collect safely
Because icing figures can be delicate, collection from Richmond is preferred. Posting may occasionally be possible, but damage in transit cannot be guaranteed against.

How much does a cake topper cost?
Smaller individual items currently start at around £30. Bespoke wedding couples or similarly detailed personalised figures start from around £150. The final price depends on the complexity and work involved.
How far ahead should I order?
As early as possible. Each piece is handmade and detailed commissions take time. Availability also depends on Hazel's other bookings and commissions.
Can Hazel copy a person from a photograph?
The aim is to create a recognisable, characterful representation rather than a photographic portrait. Clear photographs of the person, clothing, hairstyle and important details are very helpful.
Are the toppers edible?
They are made using edible modelling materials, but many customers prefer to keep detailed toppers as ornaments or mementos rather than eat them.
Can the topper be posted?
Collection is preferred because detailed icing figures are fragile. Posting may be considered in exceptional circumstances, but we cannot accept responsibility for damage caused in transit.
